Danica Eilers, LSW

Danica is a psychotherapist with formal training from the University of Colorado at Boulder, with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and an emphasis in Psychology.  She went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the esteemed University of Chicago. She has extensive training working with children, teens, and adults who’ve experienced a myriad of mental health issues.

Her mission is to ensure that all clients feel genuinely heard and understood by using a strengths-based and person-centered approach, therefore, establishing a nonjudgmental and comfortable relationship. By acknowledging that the client is the expert of their life, an open dialogue is fostered which allows her to provide thorough and effective treatment that will help foster meaningful life changes. In addition, she provides psychoeducation on beneficial skills and tools that aid clients as they work to explore, understand, and cope with underlying issues that may be impacting relationships and/or causing struggles in other facets of day-to-day life.

In addition to being a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), she has completed trainings and achieved certifications in various types of therapy treatment and therapeutic modalities, including Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Life Transitions Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). 

She has experience in multiple settings outside of private practice, including the outpatient psychiatry department, Stone Mental Health Center, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and as a facilitator of group therapy for an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Presence Behavioral Health’s Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Recovery Center. 

Danica is an active volunteer with multiple organizations and she enjoys spending time helping others, beyond her work in her clinical practice.
